Sam and I just got back from our trip to Niue (New-ay), an island in the South Pacific in the middle of a triangle formed by Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands. It was a beautiful, hot, magical, relaxing, amazing time, and we are sad to be home. Where it’s cold. Missing the daily cocktails and snorkeling and reading in the sun!
Here are some of our photos. Wah, I want to go back!
I made sure to take a couple of photos of me in my swimsuits, including one in my new Swimsuits for All bikini that I bought a few months ago. I was one of the only women who wore a bathing suit without being constantly covered with a t-shirt or something else. Even when swimming or snorkeling. No matter their size. I was caught off guard by this, because at the last resort I went to - on Zanzibar - all women wore togs all the time, usually bikinis, no matter their size. I guess I assumed this was normal (how naive, right?); between that experience and tumblr, I’ve become sheltered into believing that everyone is more comfortable with their bodies. Anyway, because of this I was a bit nervous at first to bare it all in my togs, especially the bikini, but got over it pretty quickly and then was just happy that I could enjoy the sun in the most comfortable way possible.
P.S. The last photo is Sam and I with our sad faces at having to leave.
