A couple of weeks ago I visited Toronto’s Distillery District for the first time. It reminded me a little of Montreal’s Old Port but smaller and more industrial-looking. It’s filled with great shops, restaurants, and cafes, all housed within heritage buildings of the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery. It was actually once the largest distillery and provider of whisky in the world and today it’s the largest collection of Victorian-era industrial architecture in North America.

We walked around for a while and checked out some of the boutiques. So many of them were impeccably styled that I just wanted to photograph everything.

I particularly liked this little display of handmade soaps, lotions and oils:

We then got hungry (I’m always hungry) so we stopped for oysters at Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill. They had a great patio area and it was a gorgeous sunny day. I hadn’t had oysters in forever so I felt like a little kid waiting for my food. Thy did not disappoint! I’m no oyster connoisseur but they were delicious. We ordered a variety and they came with different sauces. I was good this time and took photos before devouring everything:

If you get a chance, I’d definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area. Especially for all you architecture and history buffs!

Thanks for reading!
