You’d think a book about Classical, Medieval and Renaissance monsters would be a fairly simple thing:
~Focus on the beasts and monsters that don’t exist and the real animals that were given impossible attributes
~Include translated text from bestiaries, firsthand accounts, and myths and legends
~Go beyond just griffins and dragons and creatures that everybody has already heard of
~And tons and tons of color reproductions of contemporary artwork

But I haven’t quite found a book that fits that description perfectly.
