My Cousin, The Emperor’s music has been called “all that’s right with the genre of country music” (Under The Radar), “more honest than most of the dribble coming out of Nashville” (My Old Kentucky Blog), and “Gram Parsons-influenced, rich country folk” (AOL Music).

My Cousin, The Emperor was named “Best Band in Brooklyn 2010” by New York's flagship NPR station, WNYC. The title track from the 2009 debut album “A Long Way From Home” won the Independent Music Award for Song of the Year (Alt-Country).
