Lovely Indie Sewing pattern try#6 > Minoru Jacket
Minoru jacket is a very popular, everyone’s fave pattern from Sewaholic. My version sewed up! I’ve been waiting this comes with pdf format and finally I could try this!
Sewaholic’s patterns are designed and sized for pear shaped bodies, but i’m not. So this time, my main modification point was the hip size, I reduced -1cm from the front and back bodice (total -4cm) on the hip. Also, I adjust waist elastic position up about 4cm.(because i’m very short). and shorten the sleeve length.
Original pattern has inside pockets. but I put them outside for making more functional also as design accents.
Main material is cotton gabardine. I think gabardine is basically good for this design, but my fabric is bit too stiff for making gather. I used my favourite cotton plaid fabric for inside and made bold black lines accents using plastic zippers and zipper tabs for making sporty look.
I found Minoru’s shape is very good for any body types, not only for pear shape. The sewing process is not too difficult, it is recommendable as first jacket project for advanced beginners.
