Charles Bukowski’s Top 10 Tips For Living An Awesome Life!!!

1. Don’t settle.

“I wanted the whole world or nothing.”

If you don’t believe you deserve the absolute best, you’ll never get it.

2. Love yourself.

“I never met another man I’d rather be. And even if that’s a delusion, it’s a lucky one.”

It’s not about having a narcissistic personality, it’s about being confident in your own skin.

3. Live life to its fullest.

“What is terrible is not death but the lives people live or don’t live up until their death.”

If there’s anything crazy you’ve been dying to do, whether it’s moving to a country half way across the world without much of a plan or jumping out of an airplane with only a parachute—do it. And don’t wait.

4. Don’t fear pain, without it, you can’t experience happiness.

“You have to die a few times before you can really live.”

Feeling sadness, anxiety or pain is the absolute worst, but sometimes bad experiences make you appreciate the good ones so much more.

5. Be your own unique self and shamelessly express it in all you do.

“It’s better to do a dull thing with style than a dangerous thing without it.”

Be yourself and don’t give a damn about what other people might think. It worked well for Mr. Bukowski.

6. You’re stronger than you think.

“Sometimes you climb out of bed in the morning and you think, I’m not going to make it, but you laugh inside, remembering all the times you’ve felt that way.”

When push comes to shove, you can pretty much do anything. Don’t ever feel like you can’t do it or you’re not good enough to do so.

7. Don’t fear death.

“I carry death in my left pocket. Sometimes I take it out and talk to it: “Hello, baby, how you doing? When you coming for me? I’ll be ready.”

Be cautious, healthy, and smart with everything you do, but there’s no need to fear death. It happens to everyone.

8. Have confidence in yourself.

“The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts.”

Confidence is pretty much the key to everything, whether it’s scoring that dream date or excelling up the corporate ladder.

9. There are much worse things than loneliness.

“There are worse things than being alone but it often takes decades to realize this and most often when you do it’s too late and there’s nothing worse than too late.”

Learn to enjoy and appreciate the time you have to yourself. Being with friends and lovers can be an excellent time, but good hobbies and a curiosity for leaning make being alone just as enjoyable.

10. Life happens, don’t always take it so seriously.

“Sometimes you just have to pee in the sink.”

Life isn’t about perfection, it’s about enjoyment. So never ever ever forget to have some fun.
