Hilarious and good for you?
It all started with sex standing up… We wanted to make sure everyone knew that it’s just for fun, not for birth control. So we worked with Third Floor Productions and comedian Danny Rouhier to make a PSA of a cheesy spokesman getting really, really angry when he learns that almost 1 in 5 guys (ages 18-29) thinks having sex standing up significantly decreases the risk of pregnancy (yep, it’s the video embedded above). The PSA did pretty well on YouTube, but when we were given the opportunity to find out more about how it comes across to viewers, we went for it.
Enter Pete McGraw and Joel Warner, the scholar and the skeptic who comprise The Humor Code. We worked with them to make three more PSAs for Pete to test in a lab to find out which, if any of them, actually have an effect on people’s decision-making and behavior. But enough about us, check out Joel’s awesome article about the project on Wired.
