  1. For a quick getaway vacation, Cabo San Lucas Mexico is a great choice. It's only a two hour flight.  If you plan ahead, tickets can be as low as $329.  Plus, you'll get a good deal at five star resorts. Rates are a bit lower than normal because tourism is down.  We stayed at Cabo Villas Beach Resort and Spa. It's located right in the heart of Cabo. The resort was clean, we had great service and just an overall wonderful experience.  The only thing I could do without, are the overbearing timeshare sales people.  They are so pushy! They come at you from different angles, offering all kinds of goodies if you attend one of their sales meetings. Telling them you don't want to buy a timeshare, doesn't work.  Neither does saying you have no money. They keep on pressuring you to attend a meeting.  To get away from the salesman, we had to say, "OK, we'll go!"  We didn't. Instead we continued to enjoy the rest of our weekend, watching the beautiful sunrise at the beach and photographing the locals.  I took a liking to our tour boat guide. Juan Wilkez is a humble, hard working man with quite a story to tell. Check out the video to find out why I refer to him as the old man and the sea.    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxFV6iotUXY
