We’re glamping at the bit!

We’ve had another crazy couple of months uncovering lots more new amazing, quirky places to stay. From a reclaimed horsebox with retro furnishings and a cabin with a rowing boat roof, to a cylindrical pod perfect for biking nuts, there’s treehouses, yurts and something for even the fussiest glamper seeking out the most unusual.

Kittiwake - Argyll & Bute, Scotland

With an old rowing boat as a roof, Kittiwake sleeps two and is crafted from Mull wood cut onsite - a work of art in the midst of nature. Perched up high with views over the bay, entirely off-grid and surprisingly roomy, there’s a peaceful and relaxed feel: seashore colours, a big brass bed and lots of wood!

Ges the Horsebox - Surrey

Ges is a lovingly restored 1970s horse truck just an hour outside of London. Complete with retro furnishings and a huge, comfy cabin bed, she sleeps four and you’ll find her in the middle of an idyllic wooded meadow down a peaceful country lane.

Derw Lodge - Anglesey

In amongst 200 acres of fields, woodland and streams, Derw Lodge is a two man safari tent with a Welsh twist. With a slate hearth from a local quarry, warm woollen rugs in the living area, and of course, the mountain views of Snowdonia from the outside deck, you’re close to The Telor Cycle Route and only a short drive to a number of beaches.

Caban Crwn - Powys, Wales

The cylindrical Caban Crwn sleep three and packs a surprising amount within its curved walls including a mezzanine level bed! Fling open the huge windows to let the mountain air roll in, set the fire pit going for dinnertime cooking and relax on the deck after exploring the many bike trails that criss cross the valley.

The Oak House - Bath

Both luxurious and rustic at the same time, The Oak House is a wonder of recycling with various materials having been reworked and put together by master craftsmen. Tucked into the wood of owner Jane’s large and impressive garden (she’s a professional and it shows!), it is the perfect setting for a glass of wine on the octagonal viewing deck with views all the way to the Severn Bridges and over to the Welsh hills.

The Airstream at Swallow’s Flight - Devon

A gleaming carapace for two with authentically-restored interior: this Airstream has settled in the courtyard of a family home, with gardens (complete with a wooden Victorian conservatory with kiwis and apricots!) just waiting to be explored. The Granary is shared with the barn upstairs and the honesty freezer of Salcombe Dairy is brimming with delicious ice cream to keep you refreshed!

Jake’s Place - Devon

Clad with timber, and furnished with all sorts of exotic, handmade touches, Jake’s Place is a quirky space for four. Made from reclaimed and recycled materials, there’s a cheery blue and yellow bathroom with an unusual bathtub and you can even see the sea from the campfire spot at the end of the private garden!

Peony Lodge - Vendee, France

The real Tom and Barbara, aka Steve and Jane own The Good Life, a peaceful smallholding where Peony Lodge lies amongst an orchard full of soft fruit and vines, beautiful lakes and shady wooded areas in the French countryside. They grow their own vegetables, keep chickens and bees for eggs and honey, and even make their own sausages, bacon and ham!
