World junior long jump champion and European under-23 heptathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson is competing in the long jump at the London Anniversary Games on Saturday. Given her penchant for records, we thought we’d test KJT with the world’s fastest interview…

If you could star in a totally different athletics, what would it be?

I think the stride length of the 400m hurdles would suit me. I was going to run a 400m hurdles at the end of last year but I twisted my ankle. I hope to run one by the end of the year.

PSD best watch out for KJT! Do you have a favourite pre-competition snack?

Haribos. I like the cherry ones best.

Who would play you in KJT: The Motion Picture?

Kirsty from Coronation Street [played by Natalie Gumede]. Some people say I look like her, and it is for this reason only. I’m not a psycho!

What is the one thing that you have to take around the circuit with you? 

Can I take six? My six pairs of competition spikes: for high jump, long jump, shot, javelin, middle-distance (800m) and my hurdles spikes, which I also use for the 200m.

Have you ever forgotten a pair?

I once had to run the 800m in my long jump spikes at a meeting in Estonia because I only brought one middle-distance shoe. After about 20 metres of the race my feet really heavy, and it felt like I was stuck to the floor.

Do you have any superstitions?

I like to listen to the same playlist before I compete.

What is the worst thing you’ve ever worn?

When I was young I wore girl a lot of boys clothes, so full-on tracksuits and matching jumpers with matching shoes.

If you weren’t an athlete what would you be doing?

I’d love to do interior design. I love programmes like Grand Designs and 60 Minute Makeover.

What is your favourite holiday destination?

Bahamas. I got to go last year. It is the home of my dad.

Who would be your three ideal dinner party guests? 

Will Smith, because I love everything about him. I’ve never met Usain Bolt, so I’d also invite him. And Beyonce. After her Superbowl performance I’m a bit obsessed with her.
