Never too good not to use utensils (let the double negative sink in), Diosdado Macapagal was not afraid to get down to brass tacks and get his hands a little dirty. Eating this way was not just to showcase his solidarity with the common people but it also served as a reminder that he was once just the “poor boy from Lubao.”
