DOITGIRL. Yesterday the world was so wildly awake and celebrating itself. The fields were singing with that whispery roar as the wind rushed through them, they sounded a lot like when wind runs across the water, and they made rows of waves that shimmered like spun gold. You could hear the gleeful cries of the children in the schoolyard a quarter of a mile away, which reminded me of the same happy cries you hear on the waves of the hot summer beach. The birds were crying out brightly and showing off with low swooping descents before sailing up high, higher, taking breaks on telephone wires and staring proudly down. The dogs were howling along with the cows and the donkeys, those primals animals, always in the present, calling out “I AM, I AM, I AM.” Just how I like it, a wild, massive magnificent, primal mind-shattering symphony across a tapestry no tiny human mind could dream, one that’s never exactly the same again. We don’t have to be afraid of just how big & limitless life really is. We don’t have to be afraid of just how big & limitless we really are. It’s all so expansive and mysterious that we pretend we have some control so as not to lose our minds. But I say, lose your mind and leap in.

This one moment right now is unique, magic, fleeting, ripe and explosive with possibility and has nothing to do with anything that’s going on in your mind. If you are stuck, and have locked yourself in the darkness of your mind with ideas of right and wrong and should have and can and can’t, throw open the doors, the big french doors of your mind, and walk out into the sunlight.

I stopped in front of that field that was dancing in the wind and bathing in the sun’s bright light and I imagined myself as a condunctor standing in front of nature’s orchestra, trying to make everything sync up, be sequential, and make sense. I did it just for a laugh, because this is how most of us live each moment, as well as how we try to control our pasts and futures, trying to re-write or edit this wild, messy, perfect and primal universe. Our thoughts try to control this big cosmic endless movie, when really, we should just toss ourself in it like the sea, let it move us, let it take us. Let it lift us far beyond anything we ever thought possible. Today’s a good day to step off your podium and surrender your batons and let it all be, perfect and wild and endless. Let this big wild symphony play, just as it is. No conducting, no manipulation, just be and let be. It really is all out of our hands, so why are we holding on so tight? Whatever force is conducting this wildly beautiful universe, let that run your life. Offer yourself up.
