DOITGIRL.
On a regular basis, I bow down to four female goddesses; Shakti, Kwan Yin, Pele and Brighid. These are the ones I’ve met on my path and am most called to, but I know I’ll continue to meet more as the right times arise. And these deities do come when the time is right, and the more you call them the more they come. These are the four goddesses I meditate with and ask for help with their respective powers. Since Brighid is my most recent goddess, I’ll tell you a little bit about her first. Just like you, I’m learning as I go.
I found Brighid by pulling her from a stack of Goddess Cards one night in a circle of women in Hawaii. Her message was "Don’t Back Down. Stand up for what you believe is right,” and since I’ve been struggling with that, I was hooked. Because “what you seek is seeking you,” she’s appeared a lot in my life, in the waking waking and dreaming hours, ever since that night. One of the cool things about spirituality is that if you feel like you’re summoning a goddess, you are. If you think you are asking for and receiving healing and transformation, you are. Basically, if you think you’re talking to God (or a goddess or any sort of spirit) you are.

The Celtic Goddess Brighid is the Goddess of Fire. She brings warmth, and breaks winter at Imbolc at the beginning of February. She is the Goddess of healing, magic, craft, music, poetry, cattle and inspired wisdom. She is the Goddess of Fertility and is rumored to lean over every cradle. She is called the Bride of the Islands for her association with sovereignty and protection of the islands and the sea. In addition to all of these similarites I share with Brighid –fire, sea, the islands, healing, music and magic are our main passions- her sacred number is 19, I was born December 19, at 2:19 and have always been drawn to the number. Basically, I thnk she’s very cool. As long as you’re seeking, you too will find big and little hints along the path to your goddesses.
I love this prayer to Brighid, and said it while making my own fire this morning.
Your fire, my focus, Your fire, I see,
Your brightness, my power, Your power, in me.
Your fire, my purpose, Your fire, so pure,
Firm up my resolve, Make my purpose endure.
Your fire, so dazzling, Your fire, so bright,
Inspire my efforts, Fill me with delight.
Your fire, it fills me, Each cell shines with light,
Your fire, it heals me, The dark, and the bright.
Great Brighid, my Goddess, Your fire fills my heart,
I live in your beauty, Your wisdom, your art.
Please stay with me always, The spark of my way, T
o guide me and teach me, Oh queen of the Fey,
To know that I name thee My honor’s desire,
My signpost, my touchstone, My Goddess of Fire.

Next week more goddesses. Happy Friday, know in your hearts that spring- which Brighid brings– is just around the corner xo
Since the beginning of time the spring has symbolized a time for healing, purification, psychic awareness, paying bills, feritlity, planting magical gardens, ecological rituals, and air magic. [Scott Cunningham]
STARS.
Our internal thermometer becomes much more stable as Moon exits the reactive fires of Sagittarius, and enters into earthy Capricorn. The energy is favorable for enhancing our status today, by taking a realistic look at who we really are while concentrating on our family, finances, and career. As Luna forms a positive trine to Jupiter, and sextile with to Mercury this morning, we’re given what is needed to build and satisfy a productive mood. The Moon/Pluto conjunction will help to seal the deal if we abide to natural instincts. Tonight’s lunar square to Venus can have us feeling lonely, if we lose sight of what truly matters in the moment.
“It is good to see ourselves as others see us. Try as we may, we are never able to know ourselves fully as we are, especially the evil side of us. This we can do only if we are not angry with our critics but will take in good heart whatever they might have to say”. Mahatma Gandhi.

Moon Phase: 2/21, New Moon

The Pisces New Moon on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 occurs at 2:35pm Pacific, 5:35pm Eastern and 10:35 GMT.   It is also Mardi Gras, the last day of celebration before the Roman Catholic season of Lent begins.  In ancient times, these were the days of want and scarcity as the winter ended and the last food was rationed before the new crops came in.

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon and Sun at 3*Pisces is: Petrified tree trunks lie broken on desert sand. With the knowledge we have of the collective unconscious, we know that while everything changes - lives, grows and dies - all life leave some record of our passage here.  We each have the privilege and the responsibility to add to our collective wisdom.  This month’s New Moon calls us to this work.  Don’t forget to take the time to meditate, surrendering your ego-stance and letting Spirit speak through your soul. What you think you are here to achieve might not be what your soul was sent here to do.  Take time to open to your creative imagination to figure out how you can combine both these goals in service to the world. CATHY PAGANO READ MORE

WORDS.
“Everything changes when you start to emit your own frequency rather than absorbing the frequencies around you, when you start imprinting your intent on the universe rather than receiving an imprint from existence.”
- Barbara Marciniak
“According to Buddhism, it is our fear at experiencing ourselves directly that creates suffering.”
- Mark Epstein
“If everybody loves us, something is wrong. We can’t please everybody.”Paulo Coelho
“Inside and outside her head,
a billion, trillion stars, beyond count, circled and exploded.
A million frogs croaked, trees fell in forests echoing down valleys; children cried.
The flux of everything throbbed on and on.
Songs were heard in spheres within spheres, electric, crackle, sharp. She heard nothing.
How could she, when not once
had she even heard the sound of her own breathing.”
-Duane Michaels.
