More and more I realize that whenever something seemingly "bad” happens, the Universe is bulldozing, or simply paving the way (whichever way it’s in the mood for, it’s always working in new and mysterious ways) for something much, much, much better to come along. Recently when something “bad” happens it means I’m being triggered to learn, love, or to pause and be patient. Whether I lose something or someone, this holds true. Trusting in this, that’s it’s for the best with your highest self in mind and best path in mind– makes this so much easier, with so much less suffering. “Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form." Rumi 

Sometimes a bridge is blown out so I have to take a totally new path, and I find out later the bridge was leading to a dead end, and the path lead me to an unforseen opporutnity. It brings me to a place or person I might have been too afraid to take a chance on, had I been left to my own devices. Sometimes something leaves me- painfully if I chose to let it be so– so that I am allowed the exact amount of grieving and processing and wisening-up time before the next, much better opportunity shows up. I see this bigtime with break ups- my friends’ and my own. And always, the harder I hold on the harder I fall and the harder it hurts. A person who was about to treat me terribly "disappears” from my life or reveals their astonishngly dark true colors right before I really let them in or give them way too much. Something I was going to settle for out of hopelessness walks away from me, and at the time it seems like “their” decision. Time is not linear and we are most certainly on an astral journey, I very much feel guided, and not alone. Most nights I can’t believe every car isn’t pulled over on the side of the road just to watch the holy spectacle of the sunset. Sometimes I can’t believe we all just aren’t standing with our heads thrown back staring slack-jawed at the stars. Sometimes I can’t believe we’re not all shivering in total awe at every moment of this fleeting miraculous, magical, impossibly possible and interconnected experience of life. It is still just the beginning of the Year of the Dragon but there is rapid change in the air andall the advice is ringing true: To stay on the ride you’re going to need to strap yourself in tight, prepare for and stay open to change, signs, and lessons, and not fight the flow.
