[마이데일리 = 전원 기자] TAEYANG, a member of a leading Korean boy group BIGBANG, is going on his first world tour as a soloist in January 2015.

TAEYANG is going to meet with his fans in 9 cities of 7 countries, including China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore. His first world tour ‘2015 TAEYANG WORLD TOUR RISE’ will first take place in Hong Kong on Jan. 10th.

YG ENTERTAINMENT posted a spot video announcing TAEYANG’s world tour on the agency’s Twitter account and BIGBANG’s official YouTube and Facebook pages at 11 a.m. Thursday. The video features TAEYANG passionately performing on the stage and excited fans.

This world tour is expected to serve as an opportunity for TAEYANG to pay back the support given by the fans around the world. For the first time as a member of BIGBANG, TAEYANG released a soloist album and held a concert back in 2008. In June this year, he released his second full-length album ‘RISE,’ which has been enormously popular both at home and abroad.

The title song ‘EYES, NOSE, LIPS’ dominated the real-time, daily and weekly charts on major music websites in Korea, demonstrating his power as a talented musician. The song also gained popularity overseas, ranking 112th  on Billboard’s album chart ‘Billboard 200,’ which is the highest ranking for a Korean male singer. It also gave 8 trophies to TAEYANG on major music programs on TV networks.

In October, TAEYANG successfully held his soloist concert ‘2014 TAEYANG CONCERT ‘RISE’ for three days at the Olympic Hall in Seoul. As a member of BIGBANG, he is now on a dome tour in Japan, which is expected to attract 741,000 fans. He is scheduled to perform 15 times in 5 cities starting from Nov. 15th at ‘BIGBANG JAPAN DOME TOUR 2014-2015.’
