India Palace has successfully provided decent Indian food at a great price for over a decade. Then, ‘Mint,’ a 'classy’ Indian restaurant, opened its doors about a year ago… two doors down. I was outraged, not only because of a lack of consideration, but also because of the crowds that frequent Mint. Desperate housewives and executives frequent the place to tell their friends later about the cute 'ethnic’ bistro they went to the other night, boasting what little spice they can accept - both in flavor and spontaneity - while still being served in a 'proper’ setting. I am a [South Asian] UNC alum now, but still support the antiquated feel, the warm service, and lower prices of India Palace. Call it my way to stay hip.
With that said, perhaps this video is a tad spiteful, but in my eyes necessary.
