The purpose is to draw lessons from stories, not to tell tales….
Tasawwuf is not taken from books, as inner purity is not quantifiable like fiqh (i.e. the knowledge that Dhuhr is four raka’as). Rather, it is a knowledge passed on directly from person to person in an unbroken chain back to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and the heart is it’s container.
