My friend @ricoephoto and I took the van out one day to use my “Tent Camera”, which is a 4'x8’ tent that most people grow #weed in…lol. I decided to turn it into a Camera Obscura. Inside the tent, you can shoot plates of almost any size. The only limitation is having the same size trays and enough chemistry to process the plate.
So there we were, all happy, driving away from New York..about to have fun with the tent camera when I think, “shit!!” We forgot the tent poles…no poles, no camera. Oh, also, we forgot the aluminum plates that we were going to shoot on. An embarrassing moment later and we turned around to get what we needed…an hour and a half or so lost….
Now we’ve got everything, and we make our way back out, finally finding just the right spot to shoot, and the light is now failing us. 4 plates were taken in the end with only one real keeper, this one. LOTS of work was had to get it, but we had fun doing it. :)

This is a look inside the camera. I focus the image by pushing or pulling the backplate forwards or backwards until I get it in focus. The image is upside down and flipped horizontally as well….takes some getting used to. :)

I was happy I had the opportunity to shoot @andreafonseka, Miss Malaysia Universe 2004. She was visiting @mrchunkyexpress at my studio and I had my Wet Plate chemicals set up. She only had time enough for one plate, just one shot. I love what we got. :)
