Indo-European Water Forum
23 November 2015: EurEau was invited as part of an EU delegation to India for the first Indo-European Water Forum. The delegation included Daniel Calleja Crespo, the new Director General for DG ENVI.
The Forum was a two-day conference in Delhi featuring water experts from India and Europe. EurEau Secretary General Neil Dhot gave two presentations – one on water reuse and the other on water regulation in the EU.
One of the outcomes was the announcement of a formal Memorandum of Understanding on greater cooperation between India and the EU on water services.
The EU’s focus was on sharing innovation expertise, but the Indian water officials gave the strong message that the EU is best placed to help them with water management, legislation and regulation.
