Anonymous asked: The Rolling Stones created rolling stone magazine so it's no biggie if they're calling it after it's creators

I can’t find anything that says that The Rolling Stones (band) created Rolling Stone magazine….?? I actually have read that both the magazine and the band were named after a song called “Rollin’ Stone” by Muddy Waters that came out in 1950. But even if the bad had created the magazine, the magazine is still called Rolling Stone. Not the band’s name.
