You and I - 1D: Review
Here’s the thing about the new one direction video, the song You and I is extremely mature for them. The way that they did the video is extremely mature for a boy band.
The camerawork was incredible, that slow-motion fast motion camera-play of themselves at the end, that was so technical.
There’s nothing better than watching the people that you admire grow up. I think it’s so great that they’re taking their music to a new level, to where you can look at the video and say that was done professionally. And they also have this really great camaraderie, and like comedic essence that they get to put into all of their videos, and I think it’s awesome that they did that; they could show that.
You and I is a song that will grow with future generations and that grew with them, that grows with us, and I think that’s what they were trying to show us.
So in the long run the music video for you and I was probably one of the best ones they’ve ever done. And I’m not saying that only as a film student or only as a fan of these guys, I’m saying that as someone who has admired these guys and other bands like them for years.
I hope that everyone else can appreciate what they did and not just judge them for how they looked or what they didn’t like.
One direction is still very cool.
