My dad pointed something out to me that made me want to slap myself for being so blind. When Rey goes downstairs and touched the lightsaber, her and Maz have a very important exchange in dialogue that could prove Rey is not Luke's daughter. Maz says to her "whoever you're waiting for in Jakku is never coming back, but there is someone that could." To which Rey responds "Luke." Whoever she was waiting for is not Luke. Luke is someone, but not who she was waiting for. I didn't realize that before but I'm glad my dad pointed it out. It's extremely subtle. Luke was not the person that dropped her off and left her there, so people saying he "abandoned" her didn't think about this part of the movie. TFA is good at giving hints and hints, and people thought for sure they were all meaning Luke was her father. But it's small extremely subtle wordings like this that could mean something entirely different. I JUST LOVE THIS MOVIE WHY DOES 2017 HAVE TO BE SO FAR AWAY
