Lost amongst many genius comedic gems may be his brilliant ‘ethering’ of English politics, the London Mayor, the human tragedy in Syria, the English phenomenon of the Old Boy Network, celebrity culture and the absence of any common sense at an awards ceremony.
What won’t be lost is the way he disassembled Hugo Boss as main sponsor of the awards.
A quick look at Hugo Boss’ history makes his claims even more valid.
The man himself was a member of Nazi party (just wasn’t called that at the time).
Hugo Boss made uniforms for the SS, the Storm Troopers and the Hitler youth!
Roman Koester’s book published in 2011 concluded that Higo boss was a 'loyal Nazi’. The book also featured an apology from the company, as it documented the production of Nazi uniforms, made by Polish and French 'forced workers’.
