Affordable “High End” Skin Care

As a skin care enthusiast and junkie I love trying out (and hoarding) new products and brands. Although I love many higher end brands sometimes I want the results and feeling a high ender brand gives me but with products that are a little easier on my wallet. Most of these products range from $7 - $20 so still relatively affordable but still great quality. So if you want to splurge a bit on your skin care but not spend an arm and a leg try out some of these brands!

Some of my favorite more affordable yet high quality brands are

  • The Body Shop
  • Boots
  • Mario Badescu
  • Pixi

I love The Body Shop for it’s wide range of products and lines. They have a line for every skin type and skin need. Tea tree line for acne, Aloe for sensitive/dry skin, Vitamin C for dull, discolored skin, etc. You’re likely to find a product that works for you! They also have many sales and promotions through out the year so I like to stock up then. They also state on the website clearly if their product is Vegan!

Some great The Body Shop products are the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil to remove make up, Aloe Vera Eye Defense as a light weight eye cream, and the Tea Tree Face Wash when my skin is feeling extra congested and yucky.

Boots is the most affordable of the bunch and makes high quality yet affordable skin care ranging from cleansing balms, eye creams, night creams, serums, facial oils, etc. They even have a Boots Botanics Organic line if you want to try the all natural route! They’re really on trend with products like facial oils and cleansing balms which is hard to find in a drugstore brand! They also make a handful of shine control products for my oily skin friends. You can find boots at Target, Walgreens and Drugstore.com.

My go to Boots products are the Bontanics Rosewater Toning Spritz to set my makeup or as a hydrating toner and Botanics Iconic Clay Mask to deep clean and tighten my pores. They even have a facial oil for under $10 and exfoliating toner!

Mario Badescu is great for acne prone, discolored and aging skin because they make many products with powerful ingredients like glycolic acid and AHA that will chemically exfoliate but for half of the price as more high end brands. They even have starter kits like an acne starter kit, an oily/combination skin starter set and an anti aging kit! You can find Mario Badescu at Ulta and Nordstrom.

Some of my personal favorite Mario Badescu products are Glycolic Foam Cleanser to really deep clean and exfoliate my skin, Whitening Mask to help fade dark spots and their Glycolic Acid Toner to give me radiant, even skin.

Pixi skincare is sold at Target and other places online and is a great brand to buy serums and toners from.

The Glow Tonic is one of their best selling chemical exfoliating toners and they make great serums under $25 like their Hydrating Milky serum and Glow serum. They even make a good dupe of the Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist for only $15! Check out their Glow Mist here.
