Yesterday strong storms moved through southeast Michigan.  According to the Detroit Free Press

Homes were darkened and fallen trees and branches littered neighborhood streets Monday after a series of severe thunderstorms hit the Lower Peninsula, knocking out power to more than 210,000 homes and businesses.

Larry Fong gave us a look at the stormy skies over Pontiac.

The strong was very powerful and caused damage throughout the area.

“There’s lots of wind damage, trees down — almost 400 wires down at the height of the storm,” she said.

The storms packed winds up to 70 m.p.h. that ripped roofs off buildings.

Damage did occur at Michigan Motion Picture Studios where Batman v. Superman is shooting 

The rough weather did blow over a green screen on a back lot in Pontiac, where scenes are being filmed at the production’s headquarters at Michigan Motion Picture Studios.

This damage looks like it might be related to what happened on set today, according to Libby L (Twitter).

Apparently a local news outlet thought that the Corktown set might have sustained damage.  But it turns out they were just confused by the planned level of destruction.

Contrary to a local news report, the “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” set being built in Corktown was not harmed by the storm. What may appear to be damage is part of the design, according to a spokesperson for the movie.

You can see more of the latest set pics here.  FYI, If you are planning to drive by we hear that they have installed a privacy screen on the fence surrounding the parking lot with the mobile wood shop.

Despite the damage, we are glad to see things are business as usual out at the studio.
