Jacobs Ladder are officially premiering the video for “Ring Ring,” and it’s a balmy, tropical affair that will have you wishing you could escape to Florida sunshine. At least, that’s what these guys chose to do. The video depicts the independence that comes with escapism – and, in this case, it’s escaping the confines of a straining relationship. As frontman Oren Maisner explained of the video’s conception: “RING RING” was inspired by the ending phase of a relationship, but with a strong theme of independence and self identity – knowing when to put your foot down and say “enough is enough.” The instrumentation is a traditional reggae rhythm and Ras Emannuel blessed this track with a true touch of Jamaican authenticity. For the video, we wanted a strong contrast between the brisk, cold environment of New York in the winter, and a breezy island climate. Director Patrick Kendall captured our vision by shooting in his home town of NYC and ours in South Florida – including the Keys. And if you recognize the song’s pop-rock hooks and reggae-tinged flair, consider yourself a true PV'er. The band premiered the single back in December.
