Have you seen this footprint?

This is a 190 million year old footprint of a 3-toed dinosaur. It was left in the mud by a species of Theropod; meat-eating dinosaurs that were predecessors of the famous later T-Rex. This particular footprint was found in an area of publicly-owned lands in Utah near the city of Moab known as “Hell’s Revenge.”

That is, it used to be found there. At some point recently, this dinosaur footprint was chiseled away and stolen. The Bureau of Land Management noticed the theft last Tuesday.

It may have been taken as a souvenir or to sell. Taking artifacts like this from public lands is punishable by fines and several years in jail. On occasion, stolen artifacts like this do turn up, and now we can just hope that happens with this one.
