So here’s a funny thing. When I was a teenager I went on these amazing Music Camps in the summer holidays. They were just brilliant. One of the musicians I really remember was a keyboardist and guitarist called John Garden who formed a band called the Funky Sunfish (which is forgiveable because it was c. 1991 and Ned’s Atomic Dustbin were popular). He was a couple of years older than me and I thought he was some kind of guitar god.

A few years ago I was thrilled - but not surprised - to see that John was a semi-permanent member of the Scissor Sisters. And this afternoon I saw on Twitter that he is now playing keyboards for the simply awesome Marina and the Diamonds. The picture is from the rehearsals for tomorrow’s live lounge session on Radio 1. I wonder if he even remembers who I am?
