First day of the Filgrastim injections (yep, three of those tiny vials each day, 1.5 into each arm is how I understand it will be administered) to stimulate my bone marrow into kicking into overdrive so there will be free-floating WBCs and marrow stem cells to harvest through apheresis.

Expect a nontrivial amount of medical observation and subjective reaction posts over the next week as I go through the donation, both because it is new and interesting, and because I want to dispel some of the misconceptions about bone marrow donation and encourage everyone who’s a viable donor to consider registering to do so at http://www.bethematch.org (overseas folks, please consult your local marrow donation organization).
