Wear That Space!

Open up your closet and take a nice long look all your little treasures. Now turn your head and take a nice long look at your bedroom decor. Is it just me, or is there a strong correlation between the clothing in your closet and the design of your space? The spaces in which we live in are very much in the same style as the clothing we wear. Even if  this correlation occurs in the smallest of details. Take for example, your love of white walls and your love of a white T-shirt. Or your space is painted in blue and features brass trinkets throughout and you find yourself wearing a pair of jeans and lots of brass jewlery. The way we dress is the way we design. “Wear that Space” is all about this idea. This week, designer Catherine Kwong’s vivacious space is where we’d like to show off this theory. Each space has a modern feel, yet still pays tribute to a more vintage say 1950s-70s look. What I find successful about her space is her use of bright colors, rich fabrics and materials, and unique furniture pieces and accessories that are ready to make your jaw drop.
