This visit back home has been full of gratitude. I've never felt so fulfilled and content with my life. I have a loving mother, guiding uncles and aunts, playful cousins, an encouraging boyfriend, an amazing school, both of my incredible churches(one in Shreveport, the other in DC), and last but not least A PRAYING GRANDMOTHER. As I lay in my grandmother's bed, I watched her as she pranced around the house (she never sits still), doing her daily morning routine. She then knelt down and started to pray aloud. She called the names of each and every one of our family members. Hearing my grandmother pray was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

I'm extremely thankful for my new church family at First Baptist Church of Glenarden. Before I headed off to college, I asked God to help me find a church home where I would continually be nurtured in my faith. I needed a home away from home. FBCG is just that. God answered my prayer. Today was the Christmas Fellowship with the College Ministry I'm apart of. As I sat there, I became so overwhelmed with gratitude because I was surrounded by such a loving and caring crowd who I call my brothers and sisters in Christ! God never ceases to smile on me and give me everything I need.
