Sci, sci, sci I have a big question. HUGE. If at some point, Wade had the opportunity... If in some universe it was possible.. for him to actually BE with Cable in the way he wanted to- Would be still choose Peter, or would he leave him high and dry? I love both spideypool and cablepool but I'm curious about what would happen in your verse

OKAY. i'm going to assume this "some point" is right now. right now in the timeline. no. he's in love with peter parker. peter parker is the investment he's making. all his eggs are in THIS particular basket. he's not going to give peter up for anything. not for anything. he's put so much work in. this is it for him. he knows this is his happily ever after, and he's not going to step backwards from it.

honestly - even if things didn't work out with peter (for some reason, divorced entirely from nate) - i don't think wade would go back to nathan, unless there were some huge. earth-shattering. change. nate would have to rock up with a wedding ring, the world's biggest bouquet of flowers, a heartfelt poem and a coupon for 8 years of couples therapy.

he could've went back to nate after shiklah. he didn't. (he really, really wanted to.)

he could've fell back into nathan's arms during civil war. he was naked in nate's bed, for christ sake.

but he was RESOLUTE.

wade is DESPERATE to move his life forwards. and nathan has him in a timeloop. i think at some point wade realised he couldn't just keep running around in circles.

that's the thing with nathan and wade's relationship – that was their whole dynamic. wade would SWEAR it was over. that he doesn't need nathan in his life. that he's going to move onto greener pastures. and nathan slips back into his life and wade immediately presents his ass.

wade hates that about himself. god. he hates it about himself. that's why he's so in denial over being in love. because he knows he's such a simp. he's such a simp.

wade's whole thing right now is him trying not to fall into old habits - he so often thinks he's making progress, and winds up back at square one - and he so, so doesn't want that anymore. so no. i don't think he'd undo all of his progress finally moving past this just to run back into nate's arms again.

but it would, absolutely bring him solace to know that he and nathan do manage to work it out in some universe somewhere. that somewhere, out there in the timestream, he and nate made it.

i think wade would love to know that.

i think he'd probably cry.
