Svetlana Dzantemirovna [Adyrkhaeva] told me that for only the first act of “Spartacus”, Yuri Nikolayevich [Grigorovich choreographed] for almost a year - in the evenings, after the performances of the current repertoire. It was really hard work. And now some choreographers “give birth” in three weeks. Or they first come up with a dance and only then put music on it. For me, this is generally nonsense, the dance should come from the music, and not vice versa. Or what happens - it doesn’t matter which phonogram to put in: Bach, Rachmaninov, Pugacheva, Alsou?
