rebecca welton saying the words ‘if you go, i go’ to ted was so unnecessarily romantic for a show trying to convince us afterwards that they’re just buds, pals, friends and that’s all they ever were going to be

some people replying to this being like ‘I’d say this to my friends, m/f friendship !!!! more of this on tv pls xoxoxo’

right, fine you didn’t like tedbecca i actually don’t care because it’s not actually about that i literally mean OBJECTIVELY it’s a romantic thing to say - if higgins had said those exact words to ted i would’ve been out of my seat looking around like ‘how did i miss that higgins is in love with ted????’

rebecca welton actively wanting to stick with her job only if ted is there or give it all up if he leaves is an extreme thing for a friend to want to do… but a woman in love? knowing that the writers wanted to do ‘affectionate nods’ to people who shipped t/r means that these ‘romcommunists’ are well aware of what they were doing… there’s a reason why these nods felt more like they were trying to headbutt fans. there was no intention beyond teasing
