The Columbia Scholastic Press Association announced its annual Gold Circle Awards for Magazines, a national contest. Grub Street received second place in the literary journal category. Congratulations to faculty advisor Leslie Harrison, as well as editors Luke Herlihy, Jose Diaz, and Katie LaHatte, and designer Kendall Kiernan. Derek and Casey are home for Christmas break. Derek’s new university buddy is from the same town and starts to take an interest in Casey, which Derek doesn’t like. After the step-siblings form a new bond of their own, they’re forced to confront their complicated feelings. Derek’s way of handling the situation isn’t the best, which leaves Casey feeling miserable.

Important!!!

When going into dressing rooms, always ALWAYS test the mirrors to see if they are double sided. On normal mirrors, when you touch your finger to it, there is a gap between your real finger and its reflection. If there is someone on the other side of the mirror with a view of the “reflection”, your fingers will touch without any space in between. 

I was recently in a dressing room and did the test, as usual, and was surprised to see that it actually revealed it was double sided, and stuck in the wall. I got out of it and saw that the employee office was right near by, meaning there was most likely someone on the other side of that mirror.
