Kira gives him a last kiss on the cheek for goodnight before closing the door to her room on the TARDIS.

The Doctor stood outside her door for another minute before heading back to the control room. He sat down in his chair and thought for a minute. "What to do next?"

"Well, the same can be the said about crossing the street and getting hit by a bus." Kira points out as well.

"Well that is true as well but I won't be able to forgive myself if something bad would happen to you."

Hard Days Work

  Kailee couldn’t help but grin a little at his response. Most people took offense or proved her right. He had done neither. She shook her head, turning away for a moment, making eye contact with a different waitress and smiling as the girl held up the coffee pot. Soon enough, she was half hunched over a hot cup, only distracted when she saw the man pull—-utensils out of his pocket.

Next thing she knew, she was laughing and shaking his hand.

             ”I’m Kailee. You say Doctor—-now, are you one of those people              who take an online course and insist all your friends call you              that because you have a certificate you printed out at home?”

The Doctor chuckled. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. "You mean something like this?" He placed it on the counter for her to see. "Of course but that's not the exact reason for my name. I am truly a 'Doctor' of sorts." He took another bite and slowly chewed it. "So," he turned to Kailee and looked at her with curious eyes, "You look as if you do something exciting with your life." He tilted his head and thought for a moment. "Are you a teacher or explorer or what?"

  "What? What is it, Doctor?" Rose asked, coming up behind him and trying to see what he was looking at.

"I can't believe I did that. I can not believe that I did that. This will change everything in the universe forever."

  "Yeah……." Kira agrees with him. He should leave so she can get ready for bed in privacy and sleep.

"Um...Well I guess I will see you tomorrow then."

"You’re not a danger to me." She tells him. He may be many things, but he doesn’t have the heart to be a monster.

"Traveling with me all the time puts you in danger." He knows in his two hearts that he doesn't want to be alone, but he can't force her to stay.

  "I’m not." Kira winks at him. It was really too easy just to screw around with him.

"I...um...should probably be going now."

  "Save me? From what?" The Bostonian asks.

"From me."

Where’ve you been living? London at Christmas? Not safe, is it.

"I just hope in the end I can save you."

"Hi to you too," Kira says with an odd look at him.
