Me: I don't get it. I thought I was doing a lot better than I was a few years ago. I'm like 10 times more on top of things than I used to be. How does everything feel terrible now?
The Tiny Me in OSHA-approved Hi-Vis Gear Who lives in my brain and pulls all the levers: Boss, it's the fascism. You're completely gunked up with cortisol due to the fact that your entire daily life is now underscored with a haunting awareness of the rapid erosion of your rights, dignity, and any and all social safety nets, and you're also bearing witness to the most vulnerable people immediately being persecuted. This creates a natural stress response that basically means you're going to continue having memory and organizational problems, as well as emotional imbalances.
Me: BUT I HAVE A BULLET JOURNAL AND I MEDITATE NOW.
Tiny OSHA Me: BOSS, THE FASCISM.
I am done letting others into my progress just for them to compare, judge, or make me doubt myself. I worked hard to get where I am, and I donโt need to prove anything to anyone. My success is mine. My journey is mine. I am no longer giving people the power to affect how I feel about my own efforts.
I donโt need to share what Iโm reviewing, what Iโm working on, or how I feel after an exam for toxic people who seek constant validation through grades and others' approval. I donโt need to join in on answer-checking just to feel validated or worried. I am choosing peace. I am choosing to trust myself. I donโt need to compare because I know that my effort will always pay off in its own way.
I am stepping back. I am focusing on myself. I know what works best for me, and if that means studying alone and keeping my progress to myself, then thatโs exactly what I will do. I donโt owe anyone my notes, my strategies, or my explanations I share only with ppl who are supportive and respectful . If others are curious, they will have to find their own way, just like I do. I am no longer available for people who only want my knowledge but donโt truly support me or respect my boundaries.
I will not let small mistakes make me doubt everything Iโve done. I will not let othersโ reactions make me feel like I am any less smart. I have proven to myself that I am capable, and I will keep proving it in my own way, at my own pace. I am enough. I am strong. I am moving forward for me.
Some women are conditioned to be fragile and weak, and to believe that it's a sin to outperform a man. Her feminism would involve allowing women to be strong.
Some women are expected to be strong at times when they can't. Her feminism would involve reassuring her that it's okay to not be strong.
Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they're too stupid to ever amount to anything. Their disability activism would involve reassuring them that they're capable.
Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they're smart and gifted, and are expected to live up to impossible standards. Their disability activism would involve allowing them to fail, make mistakes, be stupid, etc.
Some children are constantly reminded "you're the child, I'm the adult" in order to deny their autonomy. Their youth rights activism would involve treating them like an adult at times when they feel ready for it.
Some children are treated like adults in order to justify increased expectations or to downplay abuse against them. Their youth rights activism would involve allowing them to be a child.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution to oppression. Each individual person's experience is different. Whatever trauma is caused by their oppression, the activism should focus on undoing it.
So, something I learnt the other day. So, you know how dinosaurs supposedly can't see you if you stand still? Well that myth is based on real-life lizards/etc and how eyes in general work. So, once my dad starts infodumping, here comes some other cool information. We, humans, can in fact, also not see something unless it's moving. We fixed this by having our eyes constantly shake. And then our brain compensates for us, so we don't have to have shaky vision.
What if aliens don't have this? Like. What if they find out when one of us was looking at something in the distance, and they walk around this thing that's in front of them, and the alien is confused so they bob their head and oh, there's a thing there, but how did the human know that, and then we explain and they're like, horrified.
Humans are apex predators. They can hunt in packs. They can hunt in pairs. They can hunt on their own. They're persistance predators, which is unheard of. They get stronger when they're mad or scared. They have this thing called 'body language' which acts like a type of hivemind, even if they'll claim it isn't. And. They can see you. When you're not moving. They can still see you. If you ever find yourself in a fight against a human, for whatever reason? Run. Run as fast as you can. And hope, pray if you have a religion, that they won't follow.
The GOP are already trying to make Trump king for life. They probably don't have enough votes to pass it this time but this is why every election counts. Assuming future elections are not rigged, local elections will make the difference between freedom and tyranny. And state and country governments have a huge impact too now. VOTE IN EVERY ELECTION. And get out and protest. Don't let them take our freedoms.
LOCAL ELECTIONS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
VOTE IN EVERY ELECTION NO MATTER HOW SMALL.
RUN FOR OFFICE IF YOU CAN.
CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND SAY YOU OPPOSE AMENDING OR REVOKING THE 22ND AMENDMENT. ORGANIZE. PROTEST. STAND UP.
They absolutely do not have anywhere near the numbers in Congress or the states to pass this
I know this is the Andy Ogles gargling Trump, but it's really just setting up for a major embarrassing face-plant. So when they face-plant, be prepared to laugh.
Oh absolutely. They definitely do NOT have the numbers...for now. And we need to keep it that way. That's why voting in every election - federal, state and local is so critical. And also why making our voices heard and showing there is a strong backlash to this is important.
This isn't aimed at actually succeeding right now. It's aimed at testing the waters and normalizing discussion of this idea. And we cannot allow that. We need to make sure we are heard loud and clear. Especially if you have GOP representatives, now's the time to call them.
And to think about how you can get involved in local activism to make sure that the numbers stay on our side. The GOP started small and consolidated thier power at the local level first and look where it took them. We need to do the same.
CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND SAY YOU OPPOSE THIS.
This doesnโt just need to fail. It needs to fail as resoundingly as possible.
Letโs make the bastards fail hard for the next twenty years

according to wikipedia: Southern Gothic is a literary style that blends Gothic themes with the American South's magical realist setting. It's characterized by dark, controversial themes, grotesque imagery, and visceral depictions of the South.
re: sidereal libras & dark, religious aesthetics. i think this is why sidereal libra placements also so successfully recreate southern gothic themes. in particular, vishakhas seem to enjoy it.
for one, beyoncรฉโs LEMONADE film and, at some points, COWBOY CARTER are southern gothic pieces. sheโs a sidereal libra vishakha moon, swati asc
someone commented on my post about ethel cain. her entire image is southern gothicism, sheโs a sidereal libra vishakha ascendant
the cast of eveโs bayouโฆ
- eve batiste (jurnee smollett) โ chitra mercury, vishakha venus
- cisely batiste (meagan good) โpossibly a vishakha moon
- louis batiste (samuel l jackson) โ swati ketu
and so on. i find that vishakha and swati are more into the religious gothicism due to vishakha being jovial and swati being rahuvian. but chitra being martian makes sense due to southern gothicism being at times grotesque and violent.
