Thank you for the love on my Lunafreya piece! She ended up being one of my favorite Final Fantasy pieces I’ve done, as I love narrative driven design especially. Here are the preliminary designs I came up with for her Leviathan summoning themed look before drawing her final art 🌙🌊✨

Lunafreya! 🌙🌊 My knowledge of Final Fantasy 15 is admittedly pretty limited, so I had to do some research for this one. I ended up being really inspired by the Leviathan summoning sequence and designed a gown based on that scene, complete with Leviathan detailing. I enjoyed playing up the pleated fabrics on this design, along with the water themed skirting.

Fare thee well and if forever - still forever fare thee well. Beyond the edge go placidly and please remember me. The edge is near, the fog is thick, and wintry face is cold and grim I am imprisoned in its ring of fires that blue and dim.

Forget the things you never knew forget the words I’ve said Not me who never spoke a word and you forget of that And over hill the darkness prowls, And ever closer winter crawls And shade of mine embracing yours is on the road it goes

The dawn ignites the morning dew and you’ll forget my face And when I won’t recall your voice, my dear, remember this: Hold tight unto these winter winds, unto the sharp and freezing mist that’s tearing us apart, and nothing is left to do - but breathe.

The other part of my heart, still - for loveliest @sleepyclementine <зз

Summoning from the watery depths of the ocean.

The salt on the air stings his nose and tongue. The briny scent is foreign to Izaya; it is unlike him to wonder near the ocean. Be it the blinding artificial lights of the Disney resort attractions against the night sky or something else, Izaya isn’t sure, yet his mind searches for the reason for his sudden yearning for Tokyo Bay. The distant sound of music and laughter come from the amusement park, but Izaya’s eyes can only focus on the black ocean calling to him.

Survival instinct scratches at his brain. He doesn’t possess the ability to swim, so why would he be here, alone and pondering, rather than watching the many tourists grouping together only minutes away? Izaya knows it’s ridiculous, but he feels a need to be in the ocean. It’s as if his body craves the icy bite of the water, pulling him into the dark depths until…what? It’s not a suicidal kind of yearning; the many hours talking to and studying suicidal humans teaches him that. He wants to stay alive and learn what this calling means. The ocean is speaking to him almost as if it’s a siren’s call. Do sirens exist in this world? If other supernatural creatures like a Dullahan can roam free in Ikebukuro, Izaya supposes it isn’t completely enigmatic. Still, he doesn’t hear any beautiful singing like he’s read about in folklore. It feels deeper and more instinctual, as if he’ll die if he continues breathing oxygen and feeling the cool air on his skin.

Izaya smiles and takes a step, letting his shoe sink into the damp sand. Only a few moments pass before the freezing water slaps against his leg and drenches his shoe. He doesn’t let the instinctual want to pull away from the cold deter him, and he walks into the water like he’s just walking down the street of Shinjuku. Soon, Izaya is completely submerged.

The water around was crushing and suppressing. It felt any moment that her lungs would give up. The blue water around her had turned dark and spread around her until the ocean had this hue.

This is what death feels like.
