I don’t wanna be the one to say this but. Um.

Has anyone noticed TTPD is our first album post-Joever and also our first album in like 6 years without a lyric about feet.

This has minimal notes bc yall r scared to acknowledge it but I think we all know the Truth

I agree with your take. I also feel like people are missing how much pride she takes in it. The line “I’m a real tough kid, I can handle my shit” matters a lot to understanding Taylor the entertainer

She definitely does not want to be pitied or babied, and yeah! There is a lot of pride in still being THE BEST at what you do despite having a broken heart. We should focus on that more !!!

But yeah as to my tags I feel like that’s aspects being overlooked

sorry to add on but your ask/reply brought this to mind from the time piece, and i found it critical in understanding i can do it with a broken heart:

no one is saying dance, monkey, dance, except for taylor herself. it’s not always easy or comfortable, and she doesn’t have to pretend it is. but she’s really, really proud that even when things are hard or weird or scary or she’s in physical pain or emotional anguish, even when her world is ending, she can get out there, do her job, and do it well. that’s the point of this story. no matter what else she can’t control, she’s in charge of this corner of the strange little rocket ship she’s on, and no one can take that from her, even if they can bring her to her knees in every other way.

(x) Ok but the burnt-edged white flag in the background? The drums? the army vibes? The way it's like its the end of a war and a military funeral and also surrender - but not to him, but rather a surrender and death to a belief system? The way she ends up crumpled up on the cold hard ground? and then she gets up and goes onstage feeling "naked" and powers through i can do it with a broken heart - this is a story of RESILIENCE, ICDIWABH is a story of PRIDE, if you can get on stage after this kind of death to your soul and everything you believed to be true, you really ARE the shit!

The Eras Tour | The Tortured Poets Department section | Version 1

Vivienne Westwood custom

I have a lot of thoughts on TTPD section (the setlist! the theatrics!). But the most important thought I have on my mind is that I accurately predicted that this costume would be by the queen of corsets Vivienne Westwood. Couldn’t picture a better designer for it!

Alright, I'm trying to see if there's any correlation. So, Swifties reblog this with your favorite pop album, your favorite country album, and your favorite folk/alternative album (you can count the Anthology tracks as a separate album if you want to put them in this category)

Okay, since people are asking, I'd say TTPD standard is overall a pop album with some alternative/acoustic moments (Smallest Man, Clara Bow, Florida, loml) while The Anthology could overall classify as folk/alternative
