When condition 1- goes for at least EUR 120 000, this one could be a bargain if the owner decides that the seats are finally worn-out: Mercedes-Benz W 111 Hochkühler Coupé (1961–1971), heavily patinated as we like it. But actually it’s a shame.

Abandoned car and tumbleweeds off Route 66
One of the greatest lemons of the British automotive industry in the 1970′s: Triumph Stag (1970–1977, four-seater convertible coupé with hardtop, here in good stale myolddear-condition) in British parking green. For whatever reason Triumph stuffed a new factory built 3-litre V8 engine into it – soon known for overheating, ill-fitting poorly sized cylinder head gaskets, rough castings, and in some cases: residual waste in hoses (!) – instead of taking the Rover V8 or other reliable engines they had access to. The best thing you can say about it perhaps is its design by Giovanni Michelotti.
Abandoned old buses outtakes. I have already shown the “better” photos of these three subjects (you can see them all here), but I post this set on the occasion of / as a tribute to this magnificent text (essay?) / post by my good friend Lambros S. Yes, it’s in Greek - but, still, you can all enjoy the fine selection of photos of old Greek buses illustrating his text.
1. A fourth and last photo of last year’s (2014) dead Unimog chilling in the fields ;) (according to autowahn). Between Pyrgos and Oreoi, northern Euboea, Greece, 2014.
2. A first photo of this year’s (2015) Unimog - alive and kicking. Agiokambos, northern Euboea, Greece, August 2015.
If anyone wonders why this vehicle is “interesting”, you better check this post by autowahn, where he perfectly sums up the reasons.
Oh… and did I ever mention that this here is NOT an “art” photography blog?
"Slammed to the Dec" In memory of a young VW enthusiast from a family of restorers who kindly let me photo their parts and project vehicles. Declan Oliver was overcome by carbon monoxide aged just 19 and many of his friends use the # "Slammed to the Dec" on their own classic VW's. Perhaps if you are working on an older VW, grab a permanent marker and write it under the battery or behind a seat (or right down the side!) and take him for a ride.
