teachers who are like well I don’t accept late work deserve death.

this is not a joke literally what do teachers gain when you fail “well but late work means they have to check ur work outside of school hours” homework means I have to do work out of school hours what’s your point

The point is that I have multiple classes with multiple assignments that are due at certain times. I have very specific schedules when it comes to teaching, prepping, and grading work so that everything keeps organized. If something comes in after I have graded all of the other assignments, this leads to a number of issues:

1. I may not see it. If I don’t see it, I don’t grade it. You still fail. 2. Late assignments will only be graded when I have the time. Again, I organize all of my classes specifically so that I am not overextending myself during the week. This usually means it’s a couple of weeks until I will be able to grade it. 3. When I do grade it, that student will not have what I call the benefit of peers. Basically, if I see that 75% of students answer in a slightly incorrect way, that probably means that the issue is with my teaching or my question, so I go and regrade answers accordingly. A late assignment doesn’t get this same benefit because I have many classes and hundreds of students and I’m forgetful. I like to be consistent and fair and late assignments make me less so. 4. What makes you so special that you deserve more time than the rest of my students to complete the assignment? This is a serious question. Myself, I allow for late assignments for major unavoidable personal issues (illness, death of a family member, etc.) that specifically impede a student’s ability to turn something in on time. If something unavoidable and personal to you happens, I’m more flexible. If not, you have had just as much time as I allow for other students who all managed to get it in on time and it isn’t fair of me to just allow for more time to one student. 5. I am worried about bias. I am human and I live in a racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and classist world and all of these issues have surely rubbed off on me in some ways I haven’t yet learned to combat. What if my allowing for some students to have more time (maybe because they’re more entitled and likely to ask, for example) was biased against certain races, sexes, etc.? Again this is not fair to those students and my aim in grading is to be consistent and fair. 6. I cannot just let all students turn in assignments whenever they want. Again, I am a human and this is a job that I cannot be on call for all day and all night waiting for assignments to grade. 7. I also have deadlines for when my work is due to the school. The deadlines I give students reflect how much time I have between getting their work and submitting my own. 8. There are deadlines in most jobs. I’m also doing what I can to prepare students for that in the jobs I am educating them for.

So I set the rule: No late work (barring unavoidable major personal reasons).

10/10 Would Recommend ; Chapter 1

This is a birthday fic for my wonderful friend, hype girl, and twin @hnn-wnchstr!! It will be three chapters, all of which she will receive today on her special day, but I will be uploading the next chapter in a few days. Love you girl! <3

SUMMARY:  When Kagome gives Sango’s phone number to a guy named Miroku, Sango doesn’t expect much to come of it. But when he begins to text her, she just can’t seem to stop responding. Every line he feeds her, she ranks on a scale of 1 to 10, and little by little, those lines make their way into her heart.

****

Kagome bustled about the apartment, getting ready for her date with Inuyasha. Sango watched from where she sat on the couch, looking up from her book. The miko had been seeing him for over a month now, and they had just cemented their relationship by mating, which as she understood it, was the youkai version of marriage. It was a little fast, but she supposed that when you knew, you knew. And Kagome had been so happy lately, Sango couldn’t find it in her to protest any of it. She had only met Inuyasha a couple times so far in passing, and while he was gruff, he obviously adored Kagome.

As long as he treated her right, that was all she cared about.

Not to mention they had slept together on the first date, something that had shocked Sango when Kagome told her, blushing but bubbling with happiness. Kagome, the good girl, doing it on the first date? It was crazy. She was also a little jealous; it must be nice to have someone to be so wrapped up in. Unfortunately for Sango, she seemed to be chronically single. She didn’t know why, but that was just the way it always seemed to work out for her. Which was fine. She didn’t need a man.

Having one would be nice, though.

SURPRISE! 💖 At long last, my gift for @fantastiqueparfait as part of @inusecretsanta is complete. I have been excited to deliver it to completion and share to the world for quite some time now, so I hope my giftee along with every other MirSan fan enjoys this. 🥰

As for why I put so much into a gift, I honestly have no reason besides... I just wanted to. I want to brighten a random person's holiday season. It was going to be much simpler, initially in the form of a fic with a single picture lol... then my brain couldn't bring itself to write very well, then I kept getting carried away on the picture part. 😅 I wanted to do more Mirsan for a long time now anyways, so why not do it all at once?

The thoughts written are all from Miroku's perspective, and this reads from left to right. Enjoy, and Happy Holidays. 💕💖🎄

(Part 1, please look for part 2 in my reblog for the full work!)
