So I am SUPER thankful that my photo has been getting popular and making the rounds on Tumblr as an example of Mahou-kei--I am really flattered, but I’ve had about 5-6 people at A-Kon telling me they’ve been seeing it posted around and I’ve been totally unaware. I’m going to start reblogging posts using my photos without credit as a result just to let people know that “hey, I’m here!” Haha. I’d really appreciate it if credit could be given where it’s due. I have a whole slew of websites you can credit here: www.flavors.me/avina If you just found the photo floating around on the internet uncredited, please let me know where so I can go ahead and track them down too. Thanks!!

Oh wow, thank you so much! This means a lot to me. I've been dressing up for a very long time, and the impact it's had on my life and self-esteem is pretty huge. Enjoy the journey, this fashion is a fun one!
I'm sorry I've been so quiet on Tumblr! I'm much more active on Instagram and Facebook and I just haven't had as much of a reason to use this account. Just a quick update though: my exams will be starting next week, but last weekend I went to MegaCon and joined an awesome ME!ME!ME! cosplay group and wore a sweet nurse lolita coordinate on Sunday. =) Let me know if you see me in any photos! I think I'm going to re-wear the coordinate from Sunday to take some better photos of it because I couldn't bring my nice camera along this time. Hope you all are doing great!
Thank you to all the wonderful Lolitas that participated in this project. I appreciate it greatly!

It was really great being a part of this project! Thank you Oli for including me! It was great seeing everyone's coordinates come together. So many different personal styles were represented in a whole range of price points!
Collaborated with the wonderful avina-kei with what is “Inspired Lolita" and "Cosplay Lolita” Please check out her blog entry when you can! http://kirakirashoujo.blogspot.com/2015/01/cosplay-lolita-vs-theme-lolita.html
I have no idea why, but the blog post screwed up and never posted!! *A* Sorry for the delay~ I hope everyone enjoys the post, hehe.
This isn’t really related to my art, but I started a new blog today! It’s called “Super Style Brother”, where I’ll be coordinating outfits based on characters from the Super Smash Bros. series. If that particular combination of weird nerd hobbies appeals to you, please take a look.
So I have seriously appreciated and adored Gigi for years--I love Cucumber Quest (can't wait for my copy of Cucumber Dressed from the Kickstarter), and her sense of humour and personality that she exudes on Twitter and Tumblr is the highlight of my "social media updating" days. I am currently freaking out because on top of all these amazing things, she's putting together coordinates inspired by Super Smash Bros.! She's a woman after my own heart. <3 I hope one day I can make pretty coordinates like this outside of J-fashion inspired by anime--right now I can only go super over-the-top. I can learn a thing or two from Gigi, once again.
That lady looks so worried haha love it
The guy behind her with the thumbs up though

DO NOT ORDER FROM THE PHANTOM AND THE MAIDEN
Just a friendly heads-up- avoid this indie brand like the plague. I ordered a dress for myself and one for avina-kei so we could save on shipping. When it arrived, it was unlined and unwearable due to the sheerness of the fabric, the “custom” measurements were completely wrong on both our pieces, the trims and finishing details on both dresses were COMPLETELY different than the pictured trims, and the shoulder seam on the left shoulder of my dress sticks about an inch up in the air while the right one lays flat- and I’m going to have to take out the sleeves and re-insert them to make it match.
The TL;DR version is that the dresses are poorly sewn, made of low-quality materials that in no way resemble the stock photos, made to completely incorrect measurements, and sheer to the point of being unwearable. Oh, and their customer service rep is rude as fuck. If you have five minutes to spare and want to see my insane exchange with them, read on~ Otherwise I’ll make a more detailed post with pictures and caps of these messages later this week!
Reblogging to spread the word. I can't wait for those screencaps to be posted--the conversation was absolutely ridiculous. I love to shop from Indie brands--knowing that something is handmade to your measurements + the unique nature of indie designs is a huge draw for me. On top of that, usually the customer service is top notch. I've received wrong items from indie brands before, and with a photo and polite message, I immediately receive a kind apology and a free exchange. I've only ever had good experiences with them. I took a chance with wonderfinch on this one--the price point was good and the design was super cute. Not to mention, I could have it made to a particular length--so I was totally ready. But then this happened. This was just such a negative and painful experience--I couldn't push further for everyone to stay away from them. Their passive-aggressive status updates, ridiculous customer service, and argumentative behaviour is not, and never is, acceptable for a business.
This is honestly the best poster I have found in a while supporting breast cancer awareness. I am honestly so sick of seeing, “set the tatas free” and “save the boobies”. There is no reason in hell a life threatening, life ruining disease should be sexualized. “Don’t wear a bra day,” go fuck yourselves. You’re not saving a pair of tits, you’re saving the entire package: mind, body, and soul included. Women are not just a pair of breasts.
I want to do this!
