Spectre

I’m very disappointed about Spectre A lot of great potential wasted completely. Felt cheated by how cheesy and cheap it was at many points during it. The dialogues were terrible. Very popcorn-y. And if the dead are alive……. where the fuck are they? Would be an amazing scene if when Bond enters the old mi6 building and turns the corner he would see Vesper, Silva, and Le Chiffre instead of their pictures.

Amen. A shame but who knows about Bond 26. I would love to see Vesper, Silva and Le Chiffe starting their own MI6-type agency with James Bond as the leader doing whatever the fuck he wants to do. Red tape bullshit be damned.

Saw Spectre (Light Spoilers)

And my assumptions were correct; Skyfall was a tough gig to beat. While it was beautifully filmed, I would say the trailers were a bit misleading with one or two characters that I had my sights on since their casting. They either received a ridiculously small amount of screen time or were added as an afterthought through the many rewrites of the script. But my disappointment lies within the main villain, Oberhauser played by Christoph Waltz, who seemed to given very little in terms of creative freedom like Javier Bardem had with Silvia. Judging by his performance, I don’t think Christoph was sold on his own character either.   

I was hoping they would explore more of the “world evolving beyond MI6″ theme that Skyfall introduced instead of awkward scene we received with Mallory. If Skyfall aimed to put James in a semi-realistic setting of the real world with MI6 on its way to extinction by current technological advances, then it should be up to Bond to protect M’s legacy by giving the world a reason why we need STILL agents like him. I think that would’ve given the film more emotional depth that it was seeking in the first place. But nostalgia wins nowadays, so here comes the Connery and Moore references and tributes. There are some very well choreographed action scenes and the opening scene is very stunning. Despite the negative feedback about Sam Smith’s song, it fitted nicely with the visuals. 

On a side note, I was surprised the amount of campy dialogue at times. Looking back to Casino Royale, we were promised with a grittier, tougher James Bond with lessons learned from Brosnan’s era but Spectre felt like a step back.

Ah, at last, that photoshoot I’ve been meaning to do and finally got around to doing. The fucking chair scene. At last, I can retire this cosplay in peace. Silva, you were a pain in the ass, but you served me well. Thank you to Peabody Cosplay for being my Mr. Bond and to Shutterfoo for being lovely and getting these shots.

i kind of miss 2012 skyfall fandom but then i remember there was a group of adult 00silva shippers that would continuously harass teen 00q shippers because they were more focused on “sexy yaois” than “sophisticated, legitimately interesting relationships” and it got progressively worse and worse and it was So Bizarre

Let’s not pretend that ship hate didn’t exist on all sides. I don’t know those guys who would cyberbully like that

my fundamental issue with the whole thing that, from what i remember, pretty much every 00silva shipper who was involved involved was over 18, and the 00q shippers that got the bulk of the harassment were 13-to-16-year-olds whos complaints about 00silva were everything from “silva isn’t hot” to “this relationship is constructed on morally wrong things and would probably involve very negative circumstance for both bond and silva”. like, i respect the ship theoretically, i’m not taking a jab at 00silva in general, and i wouldn’t consider myself very biased, but it came to the point where a particular friend group of adult 00silva shippers were sending threats to the teen 00q shippers, so i don’t really reflect on that aspect of the period fondly

I came in late for that. I didn't see much of that but I see a lot of Tumblr drama in general around here. To be honest, it could be a lot of hearsay (media has taught me to be very cynical) unless screenshots and proper bans were put in place. I'd like to assume those threats led to termination of their accounts and IP block. So if there were any accounts violating terms and agreements, they would've disappeared quite quickly. I'm not sure why people post their ages to begin since people tend to make judgments without even knowing you. I'm sorry something ruined that particular experience for you. It'll probably won't be the last but thankfully there's a block button.

I'm taking it this is the infamous "Sony" phone turned down offer. Hate to burst any bubbles here but the studio instead accepted Samsung's much more generous 20 million offer vs. Sony's 5 million. Daniel once defended Skyfall's heineken product placement stating that these movies are expensive to produce. I don't think less about the movies because of it. Its a business after all and bottom line investors wants to see profit in return. The article is typical clickbait material. :/
