Roleplaying with the New Update

Okay, so I just randomly figured this out, and I hope this works well for other users and simplifies things in regards to roleplaying and the new update.

First off, put your partner’s lovely reply into your drafts.

Then copy and paste your partner’s reply into the “Your text here” box.

Now this next step is very important to get it to work. After your partner’s url, you want to add : [colon] and blockquote their reply.

If you hit enter/return and the blockquote continues to that next line, save the draft and retry it. If the blockquote isn’t present in the next line, you’re good to go. Type your reply below.

When you save the draft, you should get something like this:

She hoped it was worth losing this game. Winifred could really use the pick-me-up. Hoping she had the camp location correct, the demon dared to stride in. "Alive and well?" (herinnocentfacade)

A little healing salve, some honey poultice, and a wrap made of spider web was all she needed in the end. There would be a pretty disgusting scar after it healed but it was better than nothing. Willow has returned to the campfire, munching on a dinner of fruit medley and green mushrooms when the mysterious woman returns. “Alive and well indeed,” she chuckles.

Her eyes brightened with delight. Excellent.
❝Good, very good. I trust your wounds wouldn’t have killed you,❞ Winifred glanced about, ❝I suppose you would have guessed what your award was. Do you have a tent set up?❞

“I do, but I wouldn’t recommend we use it.” Willow jabs a thumb in the direction of the red tent, opposite her cabin.

“Actually, any enclosed space wouldn’t be too smart, because, well...” She rolls her head on her shoulders, thinking about how she should explain. The woman snaps her fingers, emitting a bright spark. “That will happen when things get a little heated, so to speak.” Trying to ignore the fact that she had made an awful pun she continues, “I was going to suggest we stay out here on the carpet while I keep an endothermic fire going to keep my temperature down. The camp is blocked off with the stone walls, we have enough privacy.”

No, no, no. Shit.
Perhaps she still had the option to kill her off? But then that wouldn’t be playing fair. Winifred usually wasn’t too concerned with playing fair.
No, the sun was definitely up. If she or the hounds killed her, it’d be a tie. And they haven’t arranged what’s going to happen after the tie.
At this point, Winifred wasn’t sure either to come in for the kill or not. She already made it clear to herself both winning and losing will benefit the woman. The girl was in plain sight now, incredibly invulnerable, an easy meal. Some of her more beast-like instincts told her to go for it. And yet she still held back.
Do I want an easy meal or someone to make love to? Decisions, decisions Winifred…
Perhaps it’s too late now.
❝Well played,❞  She grasped the assaulting hound by it’s flanks and forcibly ripped it off her leg, throwing the viciously-struggling beast onto the ground before she stomped on it to briefly immobilize the dog. She then turned back towards the hounds, running in for the kill.
Image
❝Run. Patch yourself up. Try not to die; I don’t want this to end in a draw.❞ She spoke rapidly, knowing they barely had time, ❝If I find you’re alive and not too badly maimed by the next night, I’ll treat you with what I promised.❞
With all that said, she ran towards the hounds, her claws scoring across it’s side to confuse the beast

The sun was there but only barely. Willow still wasn’t sure she had won. Hard to think about that when the possible source of your death was trying to rip off one of your limbs. Yet the mysterious woman, the one who had been stalking her all night, did not attack. She assumes it’s because the hound already had, but during the struggle she notices her stepping towards the hound. Chunks of Willows flesh were ripped away with the beast, but it was off of her none the less. She pulls her wounded arm close to her body, sitting up with the support of her good arm, and listens to her rapid speech. She’s.. letting me go? Willow is confused for a moment before realizing the sun really had risen, it wasn’t just her imagination. She was alive. A little damaged, but alive. She actually won! Her expression changed from confusion to shock as she scooted further back towards her lighter, watching the other take the focus of the hounds away. “I-I’ll see you soon then!” Willow stammers and she picks up the lighter, “Trust me, one screwed up arm won’t take away my more intimate abilities!” With a cocky laugh she heads back towards the camp. She’ll have to cut off some of her skirt on the way to wrap the wound and fix it back up at camp, but in the end it was going to be worth it.

Winifred swore the lady could be close by. Just out of reach. A ready meal. Her excitement was at it’s peak. The demon gave a little hiss of delight, easily drowned out by the earsplitting growls and roars of the hounds surrounded her.
Come on, come on. The moon was just beginning to disappear. Not much time now. Huntress and hunted were so so close to winning.
She could just see that little speck of light from her lighter.. Yes, she’s definitely close. Winifred could practically see her now. It was nearly time to come in to the kill.
Her lighter slipped. No light source and the demon just reaching up right behind her. This was her chance.
For a brief moment the sky brightens in the slightest. Whilst still dark, one could see the stark outlines of the boulders, illuminated by the bright light that was just beginning to make it’s way across the horizon.
Right at that moment, the leading hound seized the tender flesh of her arm in it’s teeth.

This was it, the game would be over. Willow crawls towards the lighter, still flickering though dimly, using all her strength to reach for it. This is always how it ends for me, falling, being just out of reach. Every god damn time. I tried so hard but you can’t cheat death. Inching forward with her arm outstretched towards her lighter, she could barely see what looked like sunlight on the horizon. Her vision was fading to grey thanks to the sanity loss she was suffering from the hounds, but in the darkness it was all black anyway. Close.. so close... almost-!

With a fierce growl the Hound pounces on her, sinking its fangs into her arm. She cries out in pain and rolls to her side so she can kick at the creature. A single bite wasn’t death but - fuck! - it was painful! Using her other arm to continue scooting forward she focuses her leg strength on getting the beast off of her.

Aha! It seems one had found her. Dodging the boulders in her path, she dashed along to where she heard steady pawsteps and clacking claws fading in the distance, searching for the hound in chase. Some of the beasts followed along, their barks growing higher in pitch from excitement of a good chase. And Winifred can’t blame them either, for she was enjoying this.
Don’t stop.
The moon was setting. The night was closing to it’s end. That moment the sun peered in the slightest from the east, it was game over and the hunted would win.
What a shame these nights are usually short-lived during the summer.
They still had plenty of time to catch her, however. A volley of frenzied barks erupt from behind Willow, the huntress still among them.

Shitshitshitshitshitshitshit! The hounds were getting closer, louder. They’d be right on her tail too before long. Outrunning one hound was more than possible, but a whole pack? Did she even stand a chance? Willow kept her eye on the horizon, praying for the sun to rise. That was the only thing keeping her legs mobile.

Not paying attention to the ground wasn’t the smartest however. While most rocks in the field were the size of boulders, chips of small stones were still strewn about.

Her shoe hits a rock and she stumbles, trying to maintain balance. Willow’s skin tingled, she could have sworn the hounds breath had already ghosted over her. Her lighter hits the ground and skids out of reach. God no it can’t end like this.

Winifred had went over to the mounds, where her whistling encouraged the hounds to emerge, sniffing about wildly.
With a sly smirk, she beckoned them over. Although they barely understood the gesture, they ambled along in her direction anyways, looking out for any signs of prey. Winifred continued to amble along until a faint sound alerts both her and the hounds. The demon couldn’t exactly detect where the noise was, but a hound did have a clue.
There was a volley of barks while the beasts split up to sniff around for their prey. At least it confirmed she was in the Rockylands, though Winifred knew she wasn’t stupid enough to continue hiding. She just needed to find where she’s hiding and where she’ll bolt to.

Rough panting and claws clacking against the rough terrain, currently one hound is on the chase. Now, hound mounds were often placed in a wonderful patter when if you run into one, more are not far off. If she wants to stick to one hound she’ll have to make a good guess and not head in the direction of others.

Though in a game like this logic can’t solve everything. Though she could have sworn he hadn’t passed any others the sounds of more hounds can be heard in the distance. A frenzied barking like a bloodhound that found it’s trail. Maybe that woman sent them? I was being so careful. Willow continues running, it’s the only thing she could do. She prays the hound tires and returns to it’s home.

A moment later, Winifred decided to seek out the Rockylands instead. The woman glanced about, seeking out traces of any sign of recent human activity. The demon glanced up at the night sky. The moon, a waxing cresent, seemed to be at it’s highest point and was just beginning to sink. Willow had an hour or two before the game was over.
Winifred contemplated her next move. She knew there were a few hound mounds not too far away. Perhaps these hounds can flush her out, if not finish the job for it. Almost an automatic win. But it wouldn’t be nearly as satisfying as killing the woman herself, and it’d suck the fun out of actually winning.
Hmm…
She glanced back at the slowly-descending moon. It was either that, or more guesswork. Perhaps she’ll only use the hounds for giving away where she was. After all, they were very good at sniffing out prey, as well as frightening it off. And when they proved to be no more use, they could easily distract these stupid beasts.

Willow is cooking her last green mushroom as she slinks through the area, pausing to hide behind rocks that she passes. She focuses her hearing for any sound made by the woman or nearby hounds. The bastards may sleep at night but they had impeccable hearing and one step too close would lead to a chase. A chase would give away her position.

Yet the woman managed to let her guard down. Her soft chewing masked the sound of a hound breathing in the distance. The growling startled her into nearly choking and she sputters and coughs, only alerting the hound more. The smallest mistakes! How do the smallest things have such big consequences? With any luck she could outrun the hound but her mysterious stalked would still find her.

Mission accomplished.
Feeling satisfied, Winifred ran along until trees thinned out. Perhaps she’ll ambush her there. She might have to skim around the edge of the forest first; the area was quite vast.
The demon was swift, running at her quickest, and soon enough she found the amount of trees dwindling until she could detect no other. Now was time to keep quiet. She swiveled her head one way, then another, looking on either side.
Image
Now which direction? Called for more guesswork. She might be able to pinpoint where exactly would she escape the forest, considering there was no sign the other had exited yet. Perhaps she’d head east close to the Rockylands. Though if her calculations proved incorrect, she’d be truly stumped as to where she might have gone. This was going to be risky, maybe a bit too risky.
At least she flushed her prey out. And as far as she knew, the areas surrounding here didn’t provide as much hiding areas as the pine forest.

Less trees meant less protection, but she had to move on. There were other places to hide on the island. Part of her is tempted to run right back into the forest but for all she knew the woman was still in there, waiting. She decides to explore her other option: move on.

She was completely out of the forest and into empty land before long. The ground was rocky and she kicked up dirt with every step she took. Willow slips behind a boulder for a quick breather and tries to look around. The rockyland wasn’t too large, not like the forest, and while boulders were big enough to hide behind they weren’t as good as trees.

From memory alone Willow deducts that there are no other forests near by, not big ones at least. She’ll have to tough it out for a bit until she decides where to go next.

Winifred listened for footsteps, hearing only a soft patter before the sound disappeared within less than a few seconds.
The blonde lets out a few more hissing noises, this time being as noisy as possible with each movement. It seemed to be working, judging by the faint noise of running. Surely that could only come from a human. Yes, she’s definitely in the area; all she had to do now was seek the direction she was running to.
Image
In the meantime, she sought out any sign of movement while heading in the same direction, being swift in her moments.

Shit, shit, shit, they sound closer! The intensity of hisses truly did frighten her. She blames the fact that she let her guard down. Every now and then she gets the urge to turn around and look into the darkness behind her to see if she spots the woman, but that scared her even more. God did she hate the dark.

Willow continues to run but not too quickly so she could retain energy. The woman does her best to be light on her feet and make as little noise as possible. There was no time to get out the map and check her surroundings, but the number of tree’s int he area was starting to deplete. She’d be out of the forest before long.

Winifred delved into the pine forest. Unfortunately, in contrast to the barren land that was both the savannah (now gone) and the grassylands, this biome produced a multitude of hiding areas. The woman can be hiding anywhere, or already on the move, shifting from hiding spot to another, always out of reach.
How frustrating. Winifred didn’t want to waste time searching around this area as she unsuccessfully had done with the previous two. Perhaps she could frighten her into fleeing somewhere else? It’d alert her of her nearby (so close, yet so far from reach) presence and make the girl more quick on her feet, but that would mean keeping the game going for a bit longer.
Perhaps it is a bit too early to end this little game so quickly in Winifred’s opinion. A good scare often made things more fun.
Winifred pretended to aimlessly wander about for a few moments, her eyes resuming their usually narrowed state. Then Winifred interrupted the silence with a loud hiss that echoed through the dark. Then she slipped from pine tree to pine tree, occasionally giving another hiss.

She was going to keep moving as long as possible. The fewer breaks the better (besides, she could cook mushrooms as she walked). Falling behind could mean death.

However she was still dealing with the supernatural, bound to have more tricks up her sleeve than Willow could think of. The woman jumps and almost drops her lighter at the hissing sound.

It wouldn’t be that bad, she wasn’t scared of snakes, but the hiss sounded like it was coming from all directions. She couldn’t pin point a source! Willow turns on her heel in a different direction and keeps going. A headache is coming on from sanity loss, getting a little worse with every hiss as she looks for a way out of the forest.
