Avengers Day at the Brookline Public Library

Our first library event! About 20 of our heroes and villains roamed the Brookline Public Library for an afternoon, talking with the visiting kids, assisting them with a character scavenger hunt, and of course posing for photos!

I must thank the absolute wonderful thecupcakemechanic for thinking of this idea :) This is the WWII compass (yes, the screen accurate one from the movie) with the photo of Peggy inside. thecupcakemechanic thought it would be amazing if I gave my boyfriend this compass to him with my photo as Peggy instead. So after a bit of searching and getting the compass, she set up her camera equipment and took the photo. After using a template she made to have it look screen accurate, we placed the photo inside. This is for you, mrdivinevengeance :) I love you! ❤️

According to Scott Watanabe, Big Hero 6 is set in an alternate future where after the 1906 earthquake, San Francisco was rebuilt by Japanese immigrants using techniques that allow movement and flexibility in a seismic event. After the city was finished being rebuilt, it was renamed San Fransokyo due to it being a city with Japanese and American architecture combined.

THAT’S SUCH A GREAT EXPLANATION THO?

It’s understandable symbolically why the tail section of the train might not have any windows. For passengers of that section, the train is literally the world - just as the lower classes in society are forced to be concerned almost exclusively with survival, living at the whims of ideologies invented by those of higher cultural standing. But as Curtis and his band reach the front of the train towards the end of the film, we notice that those sections are also devoid of windows. In sauna cars and rave cars and drug cars, the affluent members of the upper class are just as encouraged as their counterparts to consider the train as the entirety of what there is. Even in the sacred engine room where Ed Harris as Wilford maintains the life-giving machine that he created, there’s almost a claustrophobic feeling of only being able to see in the direction of the linear train’s linear path. This new video by WHIH Newsfront, led by Iron Man’s Christine Everhart, hints at Civil War and the reason why Scott Lang is a convicted felon!
