1 done - 4 to go

I have just finished the first of the five periods of my program and must say that I seldom have felt more exhausted in my life. Today was the last of 5 exams in 3 days and the exams and all these late-night studying sessions have started wearing on me. To make matters worse, I had fractured my foot when playing rugby - a tough start so far that hadn't made my life easier in the last 4 weeks...

On a more positive note though, I will be going to Beijing tomorrow morning and I am looking forward to a change of scenery before starting again on Monday ...

A moment of reflection

I just had a look a the calendar and realised that I have already been 4 weeks in Singapore. Time is flying and especially with the packed schedule of my beloved business school the last weeks went by like the blink of an eye. In terms of the program the amount of reading is just mind-boggling and it's not easy (if not impossible) to keep up with everything. On a positive note though, the vast majority of teachers is really good, often very entertaining and able explain complex and/or boring stuff in an easy-to-digest way. So far, I haven't regretted my choice, partly also because Singapore feels a) very much like a western place compared to many other Asian metropoles b) it's has become a more liberal place than it used to be (I was surprised to see people crossing streets when the traffic lights were red) and many fines in the "fine" city are actually not imposed ...

I don't know how often and how much I am gonna be able to write here but hope I'll find some time every now and again ...
