I love the uncanny quality some that early staged photography has. Julia M. Cameron’s “The Rosebud Garden of Girls” (the women in the mirror) is just as creepy, romantic, and gothic as the Tennyson poem that inspired it. The girl in the foreground is Rosalind Lord, in a strange photo (who is that man behind the mirror?) that highlights her truly excellent, and possibly magical, hair.
