Hey, it’s your fearless Annotations leader, LaToya, here. I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news.
So, I’ve been putting off making this post for weeks and even talking about Pretty Little Liars, in general, for fear of having to talk about how I need to make this post. It was getting a little ridiculous, so now here I am to make the announcement: Pretty Little Liars Annotations is dead. Long live Pretty Little Liars Annotations.
Okay, maybe it’s not dead, but it’s back to indefinite hiatus status, and I really can’t confirm when it will be back, if ever at all. Really, it had already been on its last legs (and lasted much longer than I could ever expect) when it was just two of us doing us, and we were pretty busy with our “real world” work then. Now it’s just me, and I’m even busier these days (you follow me on Twitter, right?). I know plenty of you have volunteered to help with this endeavor, and I am grateful for that, but it’s always been a thing me and my friends (and our weird sense of humor) ran, and it simply wouldn’t be the same.
Trust me, I know this sucks. It’s sucked each time there’s been less help on the annotations front, and it really sucks now. And if I’m being completely honest, I feel like Pretty Little Liars Annotations has kind of peaked and plateaued in terms of popularity and what it can be. I’ll even admit I’m mildly jealous of other, more popular, more adaptable outlets for this fandom. But that’s what I get for choosing to sassily screencapping the show, now isn’t it?
Feel free to say goodbye (or say goodnight, not goodbye--whatever floats your boat) with reminders of your own personal favorite annotations or running jokes from Pretty Little Liars Annotations. We have A LOT. Four years worth.
