So, there's a lot of USians around who are very clearly fucking fed up with their political choices this election cycle, and planning to sit it out.
And I get it! What's the point of voting if there's no one to vote for?
The thing is, I'm Australian. In Australia, voting is compulsory. We don't get to sit out our elections, and I'll be real honest with you - we don't exactly get better choices than you lot. So how do you vote if there's no one to vote for? You find someone to vote against. And there's always someone to vote against.
Now, we have the pleasure of preferential voting in Australia - We get to rank every candidate from 1 to X, and I'll tell you, there's something so cathartic about putting the biggest bastard of the lot at the very bottom of your preferences. I understand that USians don't get that option - you get to mark one person, and that's it.
That means that you get one shot, so aim it at the biggest bastard of the lot. The candidate you most utterly detest. Put your vote in the worst possible place for them. Don't even think about who that vote's going towards, that's not the point. Remember, every vote is a vote against someone. Make sure you fuck up that someone's election day!
Worst thing that can happen to the entire world is Americans sitting this election out and letting Trump win.
What do you think he'll do for Ukraine? Yeah, exactly. He'll let them stew and it will embolden Russia and the conflict will spread towards Europe. He'll dump NATO and leave the US allies to face things alone. He'll embolden Israel even further (he already did it by validating their claim on Jerusalem). He'll further stuff SCOTUS with conservatives who will undermine lgbtq+ and women's rights. You've seen what they're doing under a president who wants to protect those rights, imagine when Trump is back.
The only thing Trump might be good for is hating China enough to stop them from going after Taiwan. Maybe. It's not like you can count on him to be consistent.
The world is in the state it is right now because Trump got elected over a sane president. A second term would be disastrous in the climate we are in. I'm disappointed in Biden, but at least you know he won't actively push the rest of the world over a cliff towards what is feeling all too similar to a WWIII.
So as someone who can't vote in the US, I'm begging you to look further than not wanting to vote on one guy and what will happen when you don't. Think of the consequences and the ripple effect it will have across the entire world. Keeping people from voting is exactly what GOP has been working towards for years. Don't play into their hands. You have a chance to put on tug brakes and keep the world from hurtling towards disaster. Use it because the alternative will be far far worse.

Another AO3 app that's pretending to be official when it's not (or at least isn't making it clear its unofficial.) They're using AO3's name and logo, and embedding ads.
Someone else is gathering your data, potentially your log in information etc and making use of it how they please. (They say they're not but their privacy policy says otherwise)
They are making money from the ads without the fic writer's consent.
They've also rated it Pegi 3 (which is ludicrous)
Please, even if you care about nothing else, for the safety of your data, please don't use this app. Certainly don't give it your AO3 log in details.
I've told AO3 that it's infringing on its copyright. I will be requesting they remove access of my work as I do not consent to my creative content being used to generate ad revenue for them.
