just came back from love, simon and i don’t think i have ever cried that much in public before

not only was the film an absolute rom-com masterpiece

but the fact

that i was sitting in a cinema seat

watching a MAINSTREAM. GAY. TEEN. ROMANTIC. film. No disease, no age difference, no artsy style indie movie. JUST. A. GOOD. PURE. LOVE. STORY

that was what got me sobbing in my seat

I hope this movie paves the way for more films like this and if you haven’t already done so. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch LOVE, SIMON

it’s amazing how straight people think teens don’t need a movie like love, simon when the director who is married and has been out for 20+ years cried when he saw the final movie because even he needed this movie. his husband also cried, countless lgbt teens have cried. one of the main actors came out because of this movie. many of the actors have friends that came out because of this movie, nick’s little brother came out to him after he found out he was doing this movie. i do not want to hear another straight person talk about this movie because frankly y’all will never understand what coming out is. so like shut the fuck up and let us cry and laugh our hearts out with a movie that loves and supports all of us. and that knows coming out will never be easy or a once in a life experience.

On 9th March 2008, historians have found what they believe is the first recording of a human voice. Predating Thomas Edison’s first phonograph recording of 1877. The “phonautograph”, created by etching soot-covered paper by Parisian inventor Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville, was played by US scientists using a “virtual stylus” to read the lines. The recording was initially believed to be the voice of a woman or adolescent, but further research in 2009 suggested the playback speed had been too high and that it was actually the voice of Scott himself. This is the original recording.

I know I don’t usually reblog educational things, but stuff like this just makes me think; history is so far away, yet so close at the same time. I’m simply amazed by this. Speechless.
